Hello friends! I hope this finds you healthy and well. After returning from my trend watching in Las Vegas, I'm super excited to share the fall 2021 trends with you.

The streets are loud with fashion rocking bold colors, multi-cultural prints and a funky vibe. Suits revamp ordinary to extraordinary with no collars, to wide collars, and v necks with a modern flare. Tailored takes center stage with button downs layered with striped vests, trundle necks under jackets, long coats over trousers all topped off with pumps or classic loafers.

Fall fashion has shaken it up a bit with the 20s meeting the 80s. Two eras that were super fun and epic. Puffed sleeves meet silk and feathers, dresses were made for night life and tailored suits rock the streets. Sequins make a girl feel glamorous. From a showgirl look to a classic sophistication, all looks make a statement. Crop is the new top! Silhouettes are showing off the midriff with suits, formal and casual ensembles. Add the jeweled belt to accentuate the waistline. The lines are boxed pleats, high hemlines, overcoats, head wraps and funky shoes. The LBD, little black dress has many lines so wear your favorite one and accessorize. Puffer padded jackets, ski sweaters and knit ensembles create a cozy look for cooler climates.

For the lovely tropical states, improvise a bit. Sport a few brighter colors, a crazy print, funky collar, layer to stay cool, pull off the crop top, feel glamorous with your sequins, maybe add vintage pearls, and just mix match to create your own style. The runway style simply sets a mood. Displaying signature style is key! #yaiyai

For hair and makeup, simply mix match cooling down and brightening up. Cooler and deeper hair tones always complement the fall season. Richer makeup tones tell a story as you show off your lips and define your eyes. I always recommend signature style with customizing your colors to complement your skin tone.

Hey guys, fall is pretty cool for you this season! Flamboyant red shirts make a grand entrance, 1990s sweater vest and leather jackets top off the look. Suits are rocking shirt jackets that button and zip, toss the tie. Tones are sandy and monochromatic. Bring out the Scottish in yourself with the skirt and kilt, yeah not for everyone but they are still a cool look. Wild statement sweaters challenge your manhood and mini man bags are the new thing.

At the end of the day, the new is cool, however just be yourself. Sport the jeans that fit just right with the collared flannel shirt and those tailored winter boots, soften the look with a scarf. Oh you will look so good with that cuddly all American guy look! Let you hair get a little shaggy and try the five o'clock shadow, just be you and enjoy the change of the season.

Enjoy getting your fall on!

Cheers to you and yours!

June 2021

Hello friends! Well, it seems like the race is on with everyone trying to shed a few pounds for summer. With the challenges that we have all faced over the past year, I am hearing a lot of discussion about weight gain, boredom and too much of a good time. Now summer has arrived and it’s time to pull out the bikinis, shorts, and the summer wardrobe. So, let’s get started with a plan, so you can rock that summer look!

First things first. Consult with your physician prior to making any sudden changes to your diet and/ or lifestyle. If you are healthy and do not have any issues, then these tips should work for you.

We all have busy schedules and need to have a plan to guide us. Let’s break down our lifestyle into categories. Categories are as follows: family time, relationship time, personal time, work time, diet, fitness, hobbies, etc. Time is a precious gift and when we don’t use it wisely it’s just gone, and we can’t get it back. So, the first step is to prioritize your life and your time. If you can run your life and not allow your life to run you, there is a much greater success rate to achieve your goals.

After prioritizing your time, you can pencil in the meal planning, workouts, walks, and learn to combine some of your time with others by being active. Some ideas to plan family time and dates with physical activities are like cycling, find some 5K walks or runs, go for a swim or kayaking, enjoy a sunset paddle board adventure, or even go for a hike and pack a healthy picnic. Being creative with the way you spend time will create lasting memories as well as help you maintain your fitness at the same time.

Meal planning is a huge part of keeping your diet on track. Plan your meals for the entire week including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. This prevents the habit of eating on the fly and grabbing whatever you can find. Look at eating as a way of survival not a just for pleasure. Stay away from fad diets. You may lose pounds quickly, however when you go back to a normal diet, you usually gain pounds back.

I feel that the key to maintaining a healthy diet is being consistent with our intake and output which is exercising. My daddy was a genus car guy from the 1950’s, my everything. He always taught me about what went into a car when he built or rebuilt them. There are so many makes and models, so many engines and configurations. He understood that our bodies are like cars. Whatever he put into them, is what he would get out of them. Hmm sounds like whatever we put into our bodies is what we get out of them. So, I wanna be a race car! How about you?

So with all of this, we need to take the time to be health. We only have one life to live, let’s make it count.

Healthy Tips

  • Make sure that you have a good family care physician, get physicals and blood work.

  • Alkalize your body by consuming alkaline foods and water. You can make alkaline water with a lemon wedge and a pinch of baking soda. Benefits – detoxication, cancer fighter.

  • Practice intermittent fasting. I typically consume my foods from noon until 8 PM. Benefits – weight loss, reduces inflammation, good for heart health, and more.

  • Consume fresh, organic foods. Eat as much raw as you can, along with lean meats. The keto diet is the craze right now, but it’s not for everyone. I always prefer a low fat and low carb diet. Just eating from the earth, limiting portions, and increasing activity always works for me. To be accountable for your food intake, look for an app or keep a journal.

  • Work out! Weight- bearing exercise is crucial to maintain bone density and to support the skeletal system. As we age, our muscles become weaker, which is not good for our posture nor our overall strength. If you cannot go to a gym, purchase some weights for home workouts.

  • Cardio is key! I feel that a good walk or daily run is a great cleanse. Not only do you sweat, however increasing your heart rate is great for so many things! Benefits – burn calories, destress, improves sleep, reduces blood pressure, boots mood, great social event.

  • Donate blood. This not only blesses humanity, however it has so many benefits for your body. Benefits – reduces harmful iron stores in your body, reduces the risk of a heart attack by 88 percent, boots your body’s red blood cell production. https://www.blood.co.uk/the-donation-process/after-your-donation/how-your-body-replaces-blood/

  • Social Hour. Choose low sugar cocktails, don’t use mixers. Instead use fresh squeezed citrus fruit and soda water. There is a bubbly with only 49 calories and less than 2g of carbs. Also, seltzers and beers with low sugar and calories. Or make a mocktail in a fancy glass with soda water, fresh berries, and a splash of Celsius, a green tea based, all-natural energy drink.

  • Rest. Getting enough rest is necessary to just be in a good mood. Benefits – balances blood pressure, helps your immune system, a healthier heart, sharper brain functions, and more.

  • Find and feed your spiritual side. Live a life of joy. Be aware of your surroundings and fill your life with like-minded people who make you feel good.

There are so many benefits to being healthy and fit. Find what works for you and enjoy.

Until next time!

April 2021

Hello Friends! As we begin a new season, it’s time to change up our style to enhance the vibe of spring. Spring brings a feeling of revival, warmer weather, and a brighter wardrobe. As our style expresses emotions, we should surely illuminate the world around us.

Spring 2021 brings a fresh new look with a blend of modern, vintage, and classics. Accessories shine bright with yellow toned handbags in all shapes and sizes. Shades of blue accessories add a pop to outfits, from bucket hats, small purses, to head wraps. Rekindling the hippie era, handbags are sporting vintage fringe. Various head wraps add flare to outfits and 80’s inspired oversized boyfriend jackets are flaunted with shorts and trousers, as well as tie dyed. The oversized, loose, and sloppy look takes over the skinny, fitted, and tailored. Mini skirts and dresses bring finesse, while mustard yellow and saddle brown pair up to the classic sorbet pastels and petals invade the streets. Get the look and rock out with white knee high boots.

Ensembles bring a modern statement with cool cutouts. Shoes have become squared off and corset inspired pieces intrigue viewers as they show off waistlines. Did anyone say checkers? Well, it’s a thing, the checkerboard pattern is definitely a showstopper.

Make-up delivers a fresh, dewy look with shimmer highlighters. Earth tones always add a softness to spring colors. Remember to softly define your brows, pump up those lashes, and embellish a richer color in one area of the face.

From mullets to shags, hairstyles are 70’s and 80’s inspired. The ever-lovely Farrah Fawcett waves give glamour, so show off that texture and movement.

This season, the men have a variety of looks. From safari jackets, nautical theme, vintage bomber jackets, ultra-wide trousers, bold Bermuda shorts with socks and sandals, big statement shirts, camel brown, bright neon, pastry pastels, 80’s inspired suits, floral print, to the blacked-out Addams family look. What a combination!

Hairstyles for men get creative with the classic crew cut, to longer pompadours. Disconnected undercuts are a huge trend, with a longer top and a shorter clipper cut underneath. Fades are a little lower while displaying edgy sharp side parts. From the classic clean Caesar to the choppy textured French Crop cut. There is certainly a lot to choose from for sure.

Style is an expression of our personality, so express yourself in the best way that makes you feel confident, inspired, and ready to conquer the day. If you would like assistance in creating your spring style, let’s talk.

Until next time!
